Egyptian international Mohamed Salah has been ruled out of upcoming international friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Spain after suffering an injury setback.

The experienced winger picked up a muscle injury during Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League round of 16 clash against Galatasaray, forcing him off and sidelining him for both club and country duties.

As a result, Salah will miss Liverpool’s Premier League fixture against Brighton, as well as Egypt’s matches during the March international break.

Liverpool head coach Arne Slot confirmed the situation, stating that the forward will not be available in the coming days. “Mo Salah has a muscle issue, so he won’t be available this weekend and will also miss the international fixtures,” Slot said.
