Mohamed Kaba may turn down his first call-up to the Guinea national team
The FC Nantes midfielder is reportedly not yet ready to join the Guinea national team for the March 2026 FIFA international window.
The situation reportedly follows a discussion between the player and Syli National manager Paulo Duarte, according to the media outlet Joueurs Guinéens. During this exchange, Mohamed Kaba is said to have explained that he wanted to take more time to settle in at his new club before accepting the call-up.
However, this decision does not call into question his interest in the Guinea team. According to the same source, the player is not indifferent to the Syli National’s interest, but would prefer to postpone his first international experience in order to focus on settling in at FC Nantes. Faced with this situation, the Guinean coaching staff are reportedly considering an alternative.
