Richy Ledezma is approaching a pivotal moment in his career as his contract with PSV Eindhoven nears its end this summer. The 24-year-old American, who made over 30 appearances this season, has emerged as a surprise asset at right back, a position he played for the first time this year.

While PSV would still like to extend his stay, Ledezma is open to exploring new opportunities. According to GIVEMESPORT, Liga MX giants Club America remain one of the top contenders for his signature after having a bid rejected by the Dutch club in January.

Originally an attacking midfielder, Ledezma’s transformation into a fullback has boosted his stock. His versatility has caught the attention of teams across North America, with clubs in both Major League Soccer and Liga MX closely monitoring his situation.

Adding to the intrigue is Ledezma’s eligibility for Mexican citizenship. After being left off the United States’ preliminary 60-man roster for the Nations League, the Mexican Football Federation has reportedly reached out in hopes of persuading him to switch allegiances.

Born in Phoenix to Mexican parents, Ledezma finds himself at the center of a tug-of-war both on the field and at the international level. With free agency approaching, he could become one of the summer’s most sought-after names.
