Miss of the Season: Hakim Ziyech Squanders a Stunning Opportunity in Galatasaray Match
Galatasaray maintained their lead over Fenerbahçe with a 1-0 victory on Saturday. A goal by Michy Batshuayi in the 54th minute sealed the win. However, Hakim Ziyech drew attention for a less flattering reason after missing an incredible chance.
Details. Galatasaray had an opportunity to double their lead when Victor Osimhen broke free one-on-one with the goalkeeper and passed the ball to Hakim Ziyech.
The Moroccan winger failed to capitalize on the open net, sending the ball over the crossbar. Ziyech immediately lowered his head in frustration and gave a nod of acknowledgment to Osimhen, who had set him up for the goal.
Context. Galatasaray is enjoying an exceptional season. The Turkish club remains unbeaten in both the Süper Lig and the Europa League. They currently lead the league table by five points over Fenerbahçe and sit comfortably at the top of Turkish football.
