Midfielder James Milner of Brighton has entered the top three players who have played the most matches in the English Premier League.

The match against West Ham, where the 37-year-old veteran started in the starting lineup for the Seagulls, marked his 632nd appearance in the Premier League. With this milestone, Milner has equaled the record set by Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs. The only player ahead of them in terms of the most matches in the world's strongest league is former Aston Villa midfielder and England international Gareth Barry (653).

Throughout his career, Milner has featured for Manchester City, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Newcastle, Leeds, and Swindon Town. The experienced midfielder has secured the English championship three times and claimed the UEFA Champions League title in 2019 with Liverpool. The midfielder made his Premier League debut in 2002, playing for Leeds United.

Milner retired from international duty with England in 2016, having made 61 appearances for the Three Lions. He moved to Brighton in the summer as a free agent after departing Liverpool. The recent match against West Ham marked James's 18th appearance in all competitions for Brighton in the current season.
