Milan is eyeing a January loan move for defender Clement Lenglet, who is under contract with Barcelona, reported Sky in Italy.

The Rossoneri are in search of a central defender due to injuries to Fikayo Tomori, Malick Thiaw, and Pierre Kalulu and have already been in contact with representatives from Barcelona.

However, the deal is complex due to the fact that the 28-year-old French center-back is currently on loan at Aston Villa. His loan agreement with the Birmingham-based club extends until the end of the current season.

Barcelona cannot unilaterally recall the player from loan; it requires Aston Villa's consent. It remains uncertain how Aston Villa's coach, Unai Emery, will react to such an offer.

Lenglet, who joined Aston Villa on September 1, has played seven matches under Emery's guidance and provided one assist. He has appeared twice in the English Premier League and five times in the Conference League, tallying a total of 630 minutes on the field.
