Michael Schumacher's first Ferrari with his signature heads to auction
The Ferrari F355 GTS, gifted to Michael Schumacher after signing with the iconic Italian racing team, will go under the hammer at Sotheby’s auction on February 4, reports Daily Star.
This particular Ferrari boasts several unique features. Most notably, the driver's seat bears the legendary F1 star's signature. Additionally, the car was customized with a six-speed manual gearbox, specially requested by Schumacher—a feature not found in standard models.
The F355 GTS was acquired by its current owner during the Monaco Grand Prix in 2004, and the car has only clocked 29,515 miles.
While no estimated value for the auction has been disclosed, comparable models typically sell for around £125,000.
This vehicle has an impressive history, having won the "Best of Show" award at the Spa Italia exhibition in Belgium in 2017. In 2020, it received the prestigious Ferrari Classiche certification, verifying the preservation of its original chassis, bodywork, and factory color.
