Mexico’s national team has confirmed two high-profile friendlies against Asian powerhouses Japan and South Korea as part of the 2025 MexTour. These matches are a key part of El Tri’s ongoing preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which Mexico will co-host alongside the United States and Canada.

The first match will take place on Saturday, September 6, against Japan at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum in Northern California. Three days later, on Tuesday, September 9, Mexico will face South Korea at a venue still to be announced.

Both games will provide a strong test for Jaime Lozano’s squad, offering valuable experience against World Cup-caliber opposition. Japan and South Korea have consistently competed at the highest level and will help Mexico evaluate key players and tactical setups ahead of 2026.

These September fixtures follow two earlier MexTour matches already confirmed: Mexico will play Switzerland on June 7 in Salt Lake City and Turkey on June 10 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, just before the 2025 Gold Cup.

As with previous editions, the 2025 MexTour will be held entirely in the United States, where the Mexican team continues to enjoy massive fan support across multiple cities.
