Mexico’s national team, led by Javier Aguirre, has revealed a 35-player preliminary squad ahead of June friendlies against Switzerland and Turkey. As reported by Mediotiempo, training begins Monday at the High Performance Center (CAR) with an initial group of 12 players from Liga MX clubs that have already concluded their seasons.

The full squad will gradually assemble as players complete their mandatory rest period, per FIFA regulations. Four América players are on standby, pending their club’s result in the upcoming Club World Cup qualification match against LAFC.

One of the main headlines is the return of Hirving Lozano, who has not featured for El Tri in over a year. Aguirre must narrow the list to 26 players by June 4, when the final squad for the Gold Cup will be confirmed. The team will travel to the U.S. on June 5 and face Switzerland in Salt Lake City two days later, followed by a match against Turkey.

Called-up players:

  • Goalkeepers: Álex Padilla, Luis Ángel Malagón, José Raúl Rangel, and Guillermo Ochoa
  • Defenders: Jorge Sánchez, Julián Araujo, Emilio Lara, Israel Reyes, César Montes, Ramón Juárez, Juan José Sánchez, Gilberto Sepúlveda, Johan Vásquez, Jesús Gilberto Orozco, Mateo Chávez, Jesús Angulo, and Jesús Gallardo
