Egypt's defeat to Argentina has ignited a major controversy beyond the pitch.

Details: According to Globo, the Egyptian Football Federation has lodged a complaint with FIFA about the referee following their World Cup clash with Argentina.

The Egyptian side voiced their dissatisfaction with the officiating in the match, which ended in defeat for their team. Now, the federation hopes FIFA will review the game's key incidents and assess the referee's performance.

It's still unclear whether the complaint will lead to any disciplinary action from FIFA.

It's worth recalling that Argentina turned their World Cup Round of 16 match against Egypt on its head, coming back from 0-2 down in the 77th minute to win 3-2.

Reminder: Crazy World Cup! Enzo Fernandez's goal sets new tournament record.
