Lionel Messi was the key figure in Inter Miami's match against Philadelphia Union, scoring the winning goal and securing a 2-1 victory for the team. With this result, the club climbed to the top of the Eastern Conference in MLS.
Messi took to the field in the second half and scored less than two minutes after coming on as a substitute. Receiving a pass from Luis Suarez in the penalty area, he skillfully struck with his right foot, sending the ball into the net past two Philadelphia defenders. This goal was his second in three matches this MLS season.
The first goal of the game was scored by Robert Taylor in the 23rd minute after assists from Benja Kremaschi and Jordi Alba. In the second half, Messi replaced Taylor and quickly doubled the lead following passes from Suarez and Fafà Picault. Philadelphia's lone goal was scored by Daniel Gazdag in the 80th minute, but the team couldn't salvage the match.
