In the early hours of Monday, May 19, Inter Miami hosted Orlando City on their home turf in a regular MLS season clash.
The match turned out to be far from ideal for the home side. Despite commanding the first half and dictating the tempo, it was the visitors who struck first — netting a goal in the dying moments before the break.
Just after halftime, Orlando doubled their lead. Inter Miami pressed forward relentlessly, enjoying twice as much possession and firing 13 shots at goal. Yet, for all their attacking efforts, the hosts simply couldn't find the back of the net. Orlando put the game to bed deep into stoppage time, scoring a third to seal a resounding win.
Lionel Messi failed to register a single goal involvement in this encounter. What's more, Inter Miami have now gone three consecutive matches without a win. Previously, they drew 3-3 with San Jose and suffered a 1-4 defeat to Minnesota. Currently, the team sits sixth in the standings with 22 points from 13 matches.
