Inter Miami is set to make another high-profile signing.
Details: According to Marca, following the successful acquisition of Rodrigo De Paul, the MLS club has now set its sights on Manchester City captain Bernardo Silva. Lionel Messi has already given his personal approval for the move, making the American project even more attractive to the Portuguese midfielder.
It's worth noting that the 31-year-old Silva's contract expires at the end of June, which would allow him to leave Manchester as a free agent after nine brilliant seasons and more than 400 appearances for the club.
However, there will be fierce competition for the Portuguese playmaker. Italy's Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Juventus of Turin also considers Silva a top priority. Inter Miami's trump card in this race could be financial: at Manchester City, Bernardo earns around £19.5 million per year. To move to Turin, he would almost certainly have to accept a pay cut, while in the United States, he is being offered more lucrative terms.
Notably, this season the Portuguese midfielder has played 39 matches for the "Citizens" across all competitions, scoring 2 goals and providing 5 assists. Transfermarkt values him at €27 million.
Reminder: Inter Miami and Lionel Messi failed to beat Nashville in the first leg of the playoffs.
