The first match of the 2025 MLS season for Inter Miami ended not only in a 2-2 draw but also with penalties for the team's leading players.

Details: The MLS press service announced that Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez have been fined for grabbing opposing team players by the neck. The amount of the fines has not been disclosed, but it is speculated that a recurrence of such incidents in the near future could even lead to disqualification.

Reminder: After the draw with New York City, Messi approached referee Rosendo Mendoza, to whom he, to put it mildly, expressed his dissatisfaction with his decisions, after which he grabbed an opposing player by the neck. Suarez also grabbed an opponent by the neck, but after the whistle ending the first half of the match.
