As Inter Miami prepares to host part of the upcoming Club World Cup, the club will first have to navigate a stretch without five of its players, all summoned for international duty during the June FIFA window. Head coach Javier Mascherano will be without key names until June 10, AS reported, as both CONMEBOL and CONCACAF resume qualification matches.

Lionel Messi and Fafà Picault were instrumental in Inter Miami’s recent win over Columbus Crew—Messi assisting, Picault scoring—and now join their national teams. Messi links up with Argentina for two World Cup qualifiers: against Chile and a rematch versus Colombia, the team they edged out in the 2024 Copa América. Picault, meanwhile, will represent Haiti in CONCACAF qualifiers against Aruba and Curaçao as his country pushes to top Group C.

Midfielder Telasco Segovia, one of Mascherano’s most consistent starters with four goals this season, has also been called up by Venezuela for qualifiers against Bolivia and Uruguay.

On the youth front, Benjamín Cremaschi (No. 30) joins the U.S. U-20s for a friendly tour in Egypt from June 2 to 11. Fellow prospect Santiago Morales, just 18, will compete in the UEFA Friendship Cup in Switzerland with the U.S. U-18 squad.

While the international window temporarily reshapes Inter Miami’s lineup, it’s also a sign of the club’s growing influence across the global football landscape.
