Mercedes supplies its engines not only to its own factory outfit but also to several other Formula 1 teams. However, that list is set to shrink.

Details: According to team principal Toto Wolff, Mercedes is preparing to scale back the number of squads that will receive its power units.

Quote: "Right now, as we’re discussing with Ola Källenius, we intend to reduce the number of teams we will supply in the next cycle. It depends on the new regulations that will be introduced in the future. Will they be simple enough?

What can we gain by supplying more teams while needing to lock in certain design decisions earlier? Taking all that into account, it won’t be four teams anymore," Wolff stated.

Reminder: The final Grand Prix of the 2025 Formula 1 season took place at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. The world champion was crowned after the race, with three drivers still in contention for the title heading into the finale.
