Meeting with Leo Messi descends into chaos: Indian fans furious! What went wrong?
The much-anticipated meeting between Lionel Messi and his fans in Kolkata, which was meant to be a celebration for Indian football supporters, turned into utter chaos.
Details: Lionel Messi, football legend and Argentina national team icon, traveled to India after his MLS triumph, where a statue in his honor was unveiled in Kolkata. In addition, the superstar was scheduled to meet fans at the local stadium.
But nothing went according to plan: supporters were left disappointed and are now demanding refunds. One attendee claimed the event was more for ministers and their children, while regular fans couldn’t see anything that was happening. The Touchline channel on social network X posted the following:
Another fan recounted that the meeting with Messi lasted just ten minutes. Frustrated supporters had to vandalise the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata where Leo Messi was at.
