Medvedev unexpectedly withdrew from Roland Garros at the Rpund of 16 stage


The world's fifth-ranked player, Daniil Medvedev, who is currently unaffiliated with any country, exited the 2024 Roland Garros at the round of 16 stage.
Today, Medvedev was defeated in four sets by Australian tennis player Alex de Minaur, who is ranked 11th in the world.
In the first set, Medvedev secured a break in the third game and won the set 6-4. However, from that point on, de Minaur dominated the court. The Australian won the second set 6-2 and conceded only one game to Medvedev in the third set.
In the fourth set, Medvedev regrouped and put up a fight against de Minaur but ultimately lost 3-6.
De Minaur's opponent in the quarterfinals will be the winner of the match between Alexander Zverev and Holger Rune.
This will be de Minaur's first Roland Garros quarterfinal in his career.
