Yesterday, the head coach of the French national team, Didier Deschamps, did not rule out the possibility that his star player, Kylian Mbappe, could play today against the Netherlands in the second round of the Euro 2024 group stage.
Additionally, a photo emerged from the French team's training session showing Mbappe practicing in a striking protective nose mask in the colors of the French flag. This led to widespread speculation that the new Real Madrid signing would be wearing this mask at least until the end of Euro 2024.
However, according to Dutch broadcaster NOS, this colorful mask will not be permitted, as UEFA rules stipulate that a player must wear a black mask.
Furthermore, NOS reported that Mbappe did not participate in the 11-on-11 scrimmage during the French team's training, reducing the likelihood of his appearance on the field.
As a reminder, Mbappe broke his nose at the end of the opening match of Euro 2024 against Austria (1-0).
The match between the Netherlands and France will take place today, June 21, kicking off at 21:00 Central European Time.
