"Mbappé, Vinicius,Bellingham and Rodrygo don't understand what they're doing." - Karim Benzema reveals the reason behind Real struggles this season
Benzema knows exactly what it takes to play for a club like Real Madrid.
Details: In an interview with L'Équipe, 37-year-old former Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema shared his thoughts on the current crisis at the Bernabéu.
The Al-Ittihad forward believes Real's star players lack understanding both among themselves and of their individual roles on the pitch:
"They're simply missing the connection between Mbappé, Vinicius, Bellingham, and Rodrygo.
Everyone needs to know exactly what their role is on the field. Bellingham needs to realize he's a playmaker, not a goalscorer. Mbappé is the goalscorer, not the playmaker. Vinicius isn't a number six, he's a left winger.
As soon as everyone understands what they're supposed to do on the pitch, the job will get done. We're talking about players who are among the top ten footballers in the world, and they're all playing for the same team." Benzema stated.
Karim Benzema joined Real Madrid back in 2009 from Lyon for €35 million. Over 12 years in Madrid, he made 648 appearances, scored 354 goals, and provided 155 assists.
Currently, Benzema plays for Saudi club Al-Ittihad, having moved there in 2023 as a free agent after his Real Madrid contract expired.
