Kylian Mbappé has set a unique World Cup record: the French national team forward netted a brace in the 2026 World Cup round of 16 clash against Sweden.

Details: The Real Madrid striker scored in the 45th minute and added another in the 74th, extending the lead to 3-0 in the second half.

This brace is already Mbappé’s third at this World Cup. In the group stage, he scored twice each against Senegal and Iraq.

In total, Kylian has now recorded a brace in seven different World Cup matches. No other player in the tournament’s history has ever reached this milestone.

Reminder: Previously, Mbappé scored his 17th World Cup goal, surpassing Miroslav Klose and closing in on Lionel Messi’s tally.
