Legendary former England and multiple club coach Sven-Goran Eriksson has said he suffers from an incurable form of cancer.

“Maybe at best a year, at worst a little less, or at best maybe even longer. The doctors don't know how long I've been sick, maybe a month, maybe a year. You can't be absolutely sure. It's better not to think about it”, – Swedish publication Expressen quoted Eriksson as saying.

The Swedish coach will turn 76 in May.

Eriksson is the first non-British coach in the history of the England national team. He led it from 2001 to 2006. Eriksson's greatest successes came as coach of Lazio, with whom he won the second Scudetto in the club's history, as well as two Italian Cups. He also successfully coached Roma, Benfica and Sampdoria. His last job was with the Philippines national team.
