Maximiliano Moralez has spoken out about his disappointing second stint at Racing Club, taking aim at former manager Fernando Gago. In an interview with TNT Sports, the midfielder said Gago created a closed circle within the squad and barely interacted with others.

“Some days he wouldn’t even say hello. He had a group that played, and the rest had to survive,” said Moralez.

The 37-year-old returned to his boyhood club in early 2023, but lasted just seven months, terminating his contract in August. Despite the short spell, he won the Supercopa Internacional, assisting a goal in the final against Boca Juniors.

Moralez confirmed he will end his career in the United States with New York City FC.
