Mats Hummels could end up in Italy next season

Italian club Roma is entering the transfer market with the goal of strengthening its squad. Daniele De Rossi has already approached the club's management with a request to sign six new players. This includes two full-backs, one central defender, one midfielder, and two forwards.

Calciomercato reports that for bolstering the center of defense, the coach wants a player who fits the profile of Mats Hummels. Consequently, the club has initiated talks with the 35-year-old German player's representatives.

Hummels wishes to continue his career in Europe and wants to try his hand outside of Germany, thus he has rejected two offers from Saudi Arabia.

It should be noted that Mats will become a free agent once his current contract with Borussia Dortmund expires. Both parties have already announced that they will not be extending their cooperation.
