Matías Moreno Joins Levante on Loan from Fiorentina in Search of Minutes
Argentine center back Matías Moreno has officially joined Spanish side Levante UD on loan from Fiorentina, Perfil reported. The 21-year-old arrives with a non-mandatory purchase option set at €15 million and hopes to find more playing time after a difficult debut season in European football.
Moreno came through the youth ranks at Belgrano and made his professional debut on July 16, 2022, against Colón. He played 36 matches for the Córdoba-based club before transferring to Fiorentina in August 2024 for €5 million. However, his first season in Italy saw limited action: just four Serie A appearances and eight more in the UEFA Conference League.
Now with Levante—who have already signed five new players this window—Moreno gets a fresh start in Spain’s second division. The move aims to help him regain form and confidence, with the long-term goal of securing a spot in top-tier European football.
The transfer also highlights Córdoba's continued impact on international football. As Moreno takes this next step, both the player and his former clubs will be watching closely, hoping the loan can spark the breakthrough he’s been searching for.
