Matías Galarza Set to Join Ajax in €6 Million Move from Talleres

Paraguayan midfielder Matías Galarza Fonda is on the verge of completing a major move to Europe. According to sources close to Talleres de Córdoba, the 23-year-old is in advanced talks to join Dutch powerhouse Ajax Amsterdam, with both clubs already exchanging documents to finalize the deal.

The transfer is expected to be completed for €6 million, the amount required to trigger the release clause in Galarza’s contract with Talleres, which runs through December 2027. The Argentine club had purchased 100% of his rights from Brazil’s Vasco Da Gama, where Galarza began his professional career.

Ajax, the most decorated club in Dutch football history, recently finished second in the Eredivisie—just one point behind PSV Eindhoven—and secured a place in the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League. The club, a four-time European champion, is in the midst of a midfield overhaul and sees Galarza as a promising addition.
