Instituto has kicked off its transfer window with the signing of Matías Fonseca, the 24-year-old Uruguayan striker who joins the club on a contract running through the end of 2027. As reported by TyC Sports, Fonseca becomes the first official reinforcement for head coach Daniel Oldrá’s squad as they prepare for the second half of the season, including the Liga Profesional and Copa Argentina.
Fonseca arrives from Uruguay after stints at Wanderers and Racing de Montevideo. His addition bolsters an attacking line that lacked depth and finishing power, a priority area for La Gloria heading into a busy stretch.
More reinforcements are expected soon. Agustín Bravo, a 24-year-old defender from Rosario Central, is reportedly close to finalizing a loan deal. Instituto is also eyeing Mauro Méndez, who has fallen down the pecking order at Estudiantes de La Plata and may depart on loan.
In the meantime, Instituto continues its preseason preparations. On Friday, the team will play a friendly against Belgrano at the Pirata training ground, following their recent match against Independiente Rivadavia. Optimism is building in Alta Córdoba as the team begins to shape its roster for the upcoming challenges.
