In recent weeks, refereeing scandals in Spain have intensified, forcing the country’s Football Federation (RFEF) to take drastic measures.
Details: According to Diario AS, RFEF leadership is seriously considering dismissing the current head of the refereeing committee, Luis Medina Cantalejo.
One of the leading candidates to replace him is former referee Mateu Lahoz, who retired from officiating at the end of last season.
La Liga hopes that this move will help ease tensions with Real Madrid, which has officially demanded changes in the leadership of the refereeing committee.
Reminder: Real Madrid plans to appeal Jude Bellingham’s red card from their last match against Osasuna (1-1).
