Mateta will miss the next match and is close to a move to Milan

Crystal Palace are preparing for their next Premier League fixture, but they will be without striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, who could be on the verge of a transfer to another club.

Details: According to insider Fabrizio Romano, Mateta has already agreed personal terms with Italy’s Milan. In addition, he will not feature in Crystal Palace’s next match. Negotiations are currently ongoing between the English and Italian clubs. Mateta himself is keen to continue his career in Italy.

It was previously reported that Crystal Palace had set Mateta’s release clause at €40 million. Whether Milan have managed to negotiate a lower fee remains an open question.

This season, Mateta has played 34 matches for Crystal Palace, scoring 10 goals and providing 2 assists. His current contract runs until the summer of 2027, while Transfermarkt values him at €40 million.

Reminder: Fulham’s official X account announced that 22-year-old Norwegian winger Oscar Bobb is now part of the squad.
