Match between two top La Liga teams could take place in the USA

The idea of hosting matches involving top European teams outside of Europe has been circulating among the leaders of the world's strongest leagues for some time. It seems that La Liga might be the first to see its games played in the United States.

According to *Mundo Deportivo*, there is a high probability that the December La Liga match between Barcelona and Atlético Madrid, scheduled for the 18th round, will not be held at Montjuïc, but across the Atlantic.

Both clubs are reportedly in favor of this idea and are already in negotiations. The potential venue for this match is MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, which is also set to host the 2026 World Cup final.

Currently, Barcelona is selling tickets only for the first six home matches of La Liga.

As a reminder, Barcelona's home stadium, Camp Nou, is under renovation, with the club planning to return there in the winter.
