Mass upheaval at Ajax: Seven players axed from squad via WhatsApp

Amsterdam's Ajax has been thrust into the heart of a major scandal, as the club's management has radically overhauled the squad and immediately excluded seven players from training. According to De Telegraaf, the players were informed of the decision through a group message on WhatsApp.
Assistant sporting director Alex Kroes wrote that these footballers are no longer part of the club's plans, are banned from the training ground, and are prohibited from participating in team activities. The list includes Chuba Akpom, Borna Sosa, Carlos Forbs, Kristian Rasmussen, Kristian Hlynsson, Jay Gorter, and Branco van den Boomen. Some of these players were signed just a year ago for hefty sums on the recommendation of former sporting director Sven Mislintat.
The players have not only been barred from training with the squad, but are also forbidden from using the parking lot, and all seven have been assigned just one physiotherapist. The Dutch players’ union (VVCS) has already condemned the club’s actions, declaring that isolating the players is a form of discrimination and unfair treatment, and that these players have become the victims of Ajax’s failed transfer policy.
