Martino calls Vinicius Junior Ballon d'Or winner but not the world's best player

With the Ballon d'Or ceremony approaching, many football experts have an idea of who will claim the award. However, for some, this achievement doesn’t equate to being the best player in the world.

Details: Esteemed Argentine coach and current Inter Miami manager Gerardo Martino acknowledged that Vinicius Junior would be awarded the Ballon d'Or, but he still considers his player Lionel Messi the world's best, even though Messi didn’t make this year’s top 30 for the award.

Quote: “The Ballon d'Or has never really interested me, and it’s never been clear to me if it’s given to the best player in the world or the best player of the year. Vinicius Junior might have been the best last season, but if you ask me who is the best right now, it’s Messi,” Martino told ESPN.
