Marseille President Longoria Banned for 15 Matches. He Accused Ligue 1 of Corruption EFE

For all remaining matches of the current Ligue 1 season, Marseille's president Pablo Longoria will be absent from the games. Here's why.

Details: According to The Athletic, Ligue 1 has banned the Spanish executive for 15 matches.

The reason for the punishment stems from Longoria's comments following Marseille's defeat to Auxerre (0:3). He accused the Ligue 1 referees of corruption.

Later, Longoria apologized, explaining that in Spanish, the word has a different meaning. However, this did not save him from punishment.

Reminder: It was also announced today that legendary Fenerbahçe coach José Mourinho has been banned for 4 matches.
