Maresca denied Chelsea players a day off after... defeat by the youth team

Coming out of the international break, Chelsea players were looking forward to a pleasant day off, but the head coach of the "Blues," Enzo Maresca, denied them this pleasure. And here's why.

Details: According to The Athletic, this decision was triggered by a 0-3 defeat to the Chelsea under-21 team. Maresca was dissatisfied with the players' performance, even though the match didn't last the full 90 minutes.

The first team featured those who did not join their national squads, while the under-21 team included several under-16 players to help fill the roster.

Maresca had planned to give the first team a day off on March 27, but due to the disheartening scrimmage, he canceled his original decision.

Reminder: Cole Palmer has returned to the main group, having completed his first training session with the team in almost two weeks today.
