Marcus Rashford reacts emotionally to the Champions League return match against PSG
Aston Villa nearly mounted a comeback in the Champions League return leg against PSG after losing the first match 3-1. Marcus Rashford reacted to his team's strong performance on his Instagram page.
Marcus posted several photos from the match and wrote an emotional caption, thanking the fans for their support.
“Fantastic support again tonight. We tried until the end but just couldn’t get another goal! We have to keep going as our season is still alive,” Rashford wrote.
Notably, Aston Villa managed to turn the game around after a very poor start. Following their defeat in the first match, they conceded two more goals in the first half of the return leg, trailing 5-1 on aggregate.
But Villa wasn't deterred and managed to score three times. They were just one goal away from forcing the game into extra time, but the English side lacked the strength for this feat.
Marcus Rashford made a key contribution with an assist on the third goal, which he set up after a brilliant maneuver past two opponents on the flank.
