Manqoba Mngqithi Eyes Extended Stay as Golden Arrows Maintain Momentum
Golden Arrows coach Manqoba Mngqithi has expressed his willingness to continue with the club beyond the current season after making an impressive start to his tenure. Having been brought in to steady the ship, Mngqithi has guided Arrows to four points from his first two games, including a draw against Mamelodi Sundowns and a vital away win over Polokwane City.
Arrows on the Rise
With games in hand over their competitors, Arrows, who are now tenth in the Betway Premiership standings with 24 points, have a good chance of finishing in the top eight. Their next test is against Magesi FC on Saturday at Seshego Stadium, where they want to continue their winning streak under Mngqithi.
“This club is my home, and if they want me here next season, why not?” Mngqithi stated. “Golden Arrows took a chance on me when I had no PSL experience, and I will always be grateful for that.”
Magesi FC Await
Despite their position in 15th place, Magesi FC have shown resilience, recently securing victories over SuperSport United and Richards Bay. They also won the Carling Knockout Cup earlier this season, proving their ability to compete against top-tier opposition.
Mngqithi remains cautious ahead of the encounter, emphasizing the importance of discipline and focus. “At this stage of the season, every game is a six-pointer. We need to stay humble, stay organized, and keep pushing forward.”
Key Players to Watch
- Knox Mutizwa (Golden Arrows): The Zimbabwean forward has been crucial, scoring the winning goal in Arrows’ last match. His form will be key against Magesi.
- Kayden Rademeyer (Magesi FC): The left-back has grown in influence and will be eager to cement his place in the squad.
