Manchester United winger turned out to be no-one's cup of tea

Manchester United are in the midst of a radical squad overhaul, with many expected to be shown the door in the summer. But, they wanted to say goodbye to some players in the winter.

For example, at Old Trafford they were going to sell winger Antony, who has not been very effective this season, and valued him at £50m. We understand the transfer did not go through. And Rudi Galetti reports that the player is unlikely to be sold in the summer either.

The Red Devils expect to say goodbye to Antony for an 'accepted sum' with intentions of forking out as much of his transfer fee as possible, but to date no club have approached Manchester United about buying him.

If the 24-year-old winger cannot be sold, Old Trafford will then be forced to scrap a deal to sign his replacement, which should be Crystal Palace's Michael Olise.
