Manchester United's young star Kobbie Mainoo has admitted that there was a moment in his career when he seriously contemplated leaving the club.
Details: The young midfielder, who has become one of the key components in United's setup this season, opened up in an honest interview with Sky Sports about the challenges every academy graduate faces on their way to the first team.
According to Mainoo, a lack of regular playing time made him consider various options for his future career.
“When you're not playing many matches or not playing at all, you start thinking about all possible scenarios,” the midfielder admitted candidly.
However, his loyalty to his boyhood club ultimately outweighed all doubts. Kobbie emphasized that his biggest dream has always been to establish himself at Old Trafford.
“At the forefront of my mind has always been the desire to play for Manchester United and to keep playing for the club where I grew up,” Mainoo added, reaffirming his emotional bond with the Red Devils.
It's worth noting that this season, the English midfielder has made 28 appearances, scoring 1 goal and providing 3 assists.
Reminder: Manchester United defender Matthijs de Ligt has undergone surgery and will definitely miss the World Cup.
