Manchester United sets sights on Everton midfielder James Garner
Manchester United are closely monitoring the situation surrounding Everton midfielder James Garner ahead of the winter transfer window.
Details: According to the Daily Mail, one of the options being considered for the central midfield position is James Garner—a product of Manchester United's own academy. The midfielder could be available for transfer at a relatively modest fee, as his contract with Everton expires at the end of the current season.
Reports indicate that the Red Devils are not planning any major financial outlays this January. In addition to Garner, the club has already decided to recall midfielder Toby Collyer early from his loan at West Bromwich. Meanwhile, United continue to search for affordable, value options to strengthen their squad.
This season, the 24-year-old Englishman has been a key figure for the Toffees. Garner has started all 17 of Everton’s Premier League matches, notching one goal and two assists.
Reminder: Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim admitted that if he could go back a year, he would do everything differently.
