The young holding midfielder—already dubbed the "new Toni Kroos" in Germany—could be snapped up for a relatively modest €10–12 million. However, the Red Devils will face stiff competition from Arsenal and Bayern Munich for his signature.
Alongside new signings, INEOS is planning an unprecedented squad overhaul. The total value of players leaving Old Trafford this summer is expected to exceed £300 million. The outbound list includes high-value assets such as André Onana, Manuel Ugarte, and Rasmus Højlund (the latter set for a permanent move to Napoli for €44 million). Additionally, the club will finally part ways with Casemiro and Jadon Sancho, both of whom will become free agents.
It is worth noting that this season, the German talent has made fifteen appearances for his club across all competitions, scoring once—in the DFB-Pokal match against Kaiserslautern. Transfermarkt currently values him at €20 million.
Reminder: Fulham is preparing to sign Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount this summer.
