Rúben Amorim is planning to strengthen the midfield with the Brazilian from Wolverhampton.

Details: According to Record Portugal, 24-year-old Wolverhampton central midfielder João Gomes could move to Manchester United as early as January.

Reports suggest that Manchester United are ready to pay €44 million for the Brazilian, a sum that fully satisfies the Wolves, making the transfer likely to go through in the upcoming winter transfer window.

This decision by Manchester United comes amid rising price tags for Elliot Anderson and Carlos Baleba, who had also been considered as reinforcement options.

Gomes joined Wolverhampton in 2023 from Brazilian side Flamengo for €18.7 million. He has made 103 appearances for Wolves, scoring 7 goals and providing 4 assists. According to Transfermarkt, his market value is currently estimated at €40 million.
