This project will become one of the largest and most ambitious in the history of the United Kingdom.

Details: According to journalist Steven Railston, Manchester United has approved the “Greater Manchester” development plan, which includes a large-scale redevelopment of Old Trafford stadium.

It is reported that after the renovation, the stadium’s capacity will increase to 100,000 seats for fans, and around 15,000 new homes will be built around the venue.

Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham has already called this project “the biggest in the UK since the 2012 Olympic Games.”

There are also plans to build several new leisure and business centers near Old Trafford. £26 million have already been allocated from the budget as the first tranche of investment for the stadium’s reconstruction.

Old Trafford has served as Manchester United’s home ground since 1910, and its current capacity stands at 74,310 seats.

Reminder: Manchester United do not plan to sign a new midfielder in winter and will wait for summer
