Manchester United's central midfielder Scott McTominay has been awarded the prize for the best Scottish footballer of the year.

McTominay was recognized as the best player of the year not only by journalists but also by fans.

"Winning this award makes me proud because we have had some extraordinary players and I have followed in their footsteps. I don't consider myself a hero, I just want to do my best for Scotland and for my grandparents, my mother, my father and everyone," commented the Manchester United player on receiving the award.

McTominay became the main hero for the Scottish national team in a successful qualifying cycle for the Euro 2024 Championship. The 27-year-old midfielder scored 7 goals and provided 1 assist in 8 matches.

For the "Red Devils," McTominay has played 34 matches in the current season, scoring 9 goals and providing 3 assists.

At the Euro 2024 Championship, Scotland will compete in a group against Germany, Hungary, and Switzerland.
