Manchester United does not plan to extend the contract with its forward Anthony Martial, according to TalkSport.

According to sources, the French footballer will leave the "Red Devils" in the summer as a free agent if he does not find a new club in January. Manchester United has the right to initiate a one-year contract extension with Martial. However, it is unlikely to happen. Head coach Erik ten Hag stated in a press conference that the club has not activated this option at the moment.

He also mentioned that discussions are ongoing between the team's representatives and the player, but an extension is unlikely. Currently, the French footballer can engage in dialogues with other clubs regarding a future transfer and a pre-contract agreement. Manchester United expects Anthony Martial to leave the club in the summer.

It's worth noting that on the last day of the transfer window, on September 1, 2015, Martial joined Manchester United for a transfer fee of £36 million (a world record for a player under 20 at that time), which could rise to £58 million based on the player's performances.
