Manchester United interested in Nuno Mendes from PSG; he previously worked with Amorim
Finding a new left-back is a top priority for Manchester United in the transfer market, and the club has identified a promising target.
Details: According to Florian Plettenberg, the "Red Devils" are targeting a transfer for PSG's left-back Nuno Mendes.
The 22-year-old Portuguese defender was not initially planning to leave PSG, but he has shown significant interest in the possibility of joining Manchester United. This interest has reportedly stalled contract extension talks between Mendes and PSG. His current deal runs until the summer of 2026.
An additional factor is Mendes' history with United’s current head coach, Ruben Amorim, under whom he played at Sporting Lisbon. Moreover, both Mendes and Amorim share representation through the same agency.
This season, Mendes has recorded 2 goals and 2 assists in 15 matches across all competitions.
Reminder: Manchester United is also close to signing 17-year-old left-back Diego Leon from Paraguayan club Cerro Porteño.
