The problems with the centre-backs, who keep getting injured and prevent Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag from forming an optimal centre-back pair, are prompting the Red Devils to work more actively on the transfer market.

Thus, at Old Trafford are interested in Wolverhampton captain Max Kilman, whom Manchester United scouts have repeatedly looked at. The Times emphasises that there has been no contact between the clubs so far, but Wolves are unwilling to let go of their 26-year-old leader.

It is not yet known what amount could change Gary O'Neill's team's mind, as the club previously rejected a £30m offer from Napoli. Kilman, who has started every Wolverhampton game this season in the starting line-up, is also retained on a long contract until 2028.

Recall, earlier, O`Neil criticised the club's management for the lack of transfers in the winter window.
