Manchester United has determined the fate of Moroccan national team midfielder, Sofyan Amrabat.

According to Football-Italia, the leadership of the Manchester club has decided not to exercise the option to purchase the player's contract from Fiorentina. He may return to Serie A, where both Milan and Juventus have shown interest in him.

The midfielder moved on loan last summer for €9 million with the option to buy for an additional €20 million.

At Old Trafford, the player was mostly utilized out of his preferred position, sometimes even as a left-back, and he failed to make enough of an impression on the coaching staff to earn a permanent transfer.

The 27-year-old Amrabat played 22 matches in all competitions for the Red Devils, without registering any goals or assists.

Amrabat's contract with Fiorentina runs until June 2025. Transfermarkt values the player at €22 million.

Earlier reports suggested that Manchester United wants to sign a goalkeeper from Real Madrid.
