The Red Devils have renewed the contract with their third-choice goalkeeper.

Details: As reported by Fabrizio Romano on his X page, the Manchester United management has decided to extend their cooperation with 39-year-old Tom Heaton for another year.

The contract extension was personally approved by Ruben Amorim and the coaching staff, and an official announcement regarding the agreement will be made soon.

It’s also worth highlighting Tom Heaton’s unique achievement: he has spent a total of nine years at Manchester United but has never made an appearance in an official match for the club.

The bulk of Heaton’s career appearances came with Burnley from 2013 to 2019, during which he played 188 matches.

Throughout his career, Tom Heaton has played for clubs such as Swindon Town, Antwerp, Cardiff, QPR, Rochdale, Wycombe, Bristol City, Aston Villa, as well as the aforementioned Manchester United and Burnley.
