Manchester United hosted Everton at Old Trafford in the 28th round of the Premier League. The Red Devils had lost their two previous matches in the championship, hence they were highly motivated to make amends in front of their home fans.

And they succeeded that easy. The Mancunians scored two goals against the Toffees in the first half, both from penalties. Interestingly, both penalties were earned by the same player.

In the 12th minute, the referee awarded a penalty for Pickford's challenge on Tarkowski, which resulted in a trip on Garnacho. Fernandes confidently converted the spot-kick. Twenty minutes later, Godfrey fouled the Argentine in the Everton box, granting United another penalty. This time, Rashford calmly dispatched the ball from the spot.

It's worth noting that Garnacho became the first Manchester United player in history to win two penalties for his team in a single Premier League match.

In the second half, Everton showed little desire to salvage the match, failing to create any significant danger in Onana's goal. On the contrary, the hosts had opportunities to extend their lead, but Pickford proved reliable.

Erik ten Hag's team remained in sixth place in the league with 47 points. Everton, on the other hand, sits in 16th place with 25 points.
