Viktor Gyökeres is set to be one of the most sought-after forwards in the upcoming summer transfer market, and one of England’s top clubs is already making moves for his signature.
Details: According to Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United has entered negotiations with Sporting Lisbon to facilitate Gyökeres' transfer after the current season ends.
A key advantage for the "Red Devils" in these talks is that their current manager, Rúben Amorim, was instrumental in unlocking the Swedish striker’s potential during their time together at the Lisbon club.
However, it is noted that United will likely need to offload one of their current forwards to comply with financial fair play regulations if they are to secure Gyökeres.
The expected fee for the 26-year-old Swedish striker is no less than €60 million.
This season, Gyökeres has been in sensational form, scoring 24 goals and providing 4 assists in 21 matches.
Reminder: Over the weekend, Manchester United thrashed Everton 4–0, with Marcus Rashford scoring in his second consecutive Premier League match.
